To check a criminal record the applicant must visit the nearest police station. The applicant must provide the following documents for the processing of the request for police clearance / character certificate:
Criminal Record Checking Requirements
a) Application form.
b) Four (04) photographs (new passport size).
c) CNIC / NICOP or Pakistani machine readable passport along with photocopies.
d) Please fill out the attached form and duly certified by the Attendance Department of the High Commissioner of Pakistan, London (Click here to know the certification time).
e) Application processing time is 3-5 months or more.
Criminal Record Checking Process Detail
a) Make a letter of authority on behalf of any family member in Pakistan. For letter of authority, click here
b) Get Appointment and Certification (AL) from any Pakistani mission near you in the UK.
c) Take a valid original and a copy of Pakistani ID (passport or CNIC) along with your letter of authority (a copy too) for certification in the High Commission.
d) Please send this letter of certified authority to Pakistan to your family member who will process your police check from the relevant police station.
e) After receiving (Police Check) at the police station, please make sure it is certified by the Foreign Office or the regional office before it is returned to you.
f) You must prove your high commission / submission (police check) before showing it to local authorities in the UK.
Pehchaan App to Check Criminal History
Punjab Police have introduced a Smartphone App, “Pehchaan” to ascertain Citizens’ Criminal Backgrounds before Hiring Servants or Domestic Workers. This app is being launched together with the Punjab Safe Cities Authorities (PSCA), to see the criminal records of citizens, especially once they are hired as domestic servants or domestic workers. The Pehchaan app may be a criminal background check system, a mobile app that’s developed for Punjab citizens for newest information from their CNIC and their registry. The Pehchaan application is available for the city of Lahore, then it will be spent throughout the province.
