Prime Minister Imran Khan launched a Kamyab Pakistan Program (KPP) worth PRs. 1,400 billion in Islamabad to assist the weaker sectors of the society. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Kamyab Pakistan Program in the federal capital area, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan said the project should have started seventy four (74) years ago.
The Prime Minister termed the Kamyab Pakistan Programme (KKP) as a historic enterprise and said that it would improve the living standards of the common man. The PM Imran Khan said that our system is considered to facilitate the elite class of the society, He further adding that the state of Madinah is a role model for them.
Describing the state of Madinah as the most successful model in the world, Prime Minister Imran said that people become prosperous after the establishment of the welfare state in Madinah. Criticizing the previous governments, the Prime Minister said that the poor policies of the past have left the backward sections of our society far behind.
PM Imran Khan added that discrimination is the basis of the decline of any society. Additionally he stated that no government in the country has worked on uniform prospectus.
In a recent meeting, SBP Governor Raza Baqir allegedly welcomed the KPP’s goals, especially the way it was achieved. However, he suggested better sharing of burden between banks and taxpayers and said it might be advisable to limit commercial banks to 50 per cent of government guaranteed bank loans as decided by the Cabinet Economic Coordination Committee.
He further stated that the PTI government had reduced tax on sales and charge on petrol for the convenience of the people. It is notable that under the flagship program, the government will provide small loans of PRs 1.4 trillion to 3.7 million households across the country.
Kamyab Pakistan Programme Phases
KPP will be launched in phases. During the first phase of Kamab Pakistan Programme, the loans will be provided to deserving families in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, backward areas of Punjab and Sindh.
In line with the Prime Minister’s vision of empowering the people, the government has taken a number of steps aimed at alleviating poverty, creating employment opportunities and providing affordable housing for the people.
The Kamyab Pakistan Programme enterprise is designed to change the lives of the backward sectors of the society. The program will distribute PRs. 1,400 billion in microcredit to the poorest people, providing them with much-needed financial support to improve their livelihoods. Under Kamyab Pakistan Programme, the financing will be given only to those backward families whose average gross monthly income is up to PRs. 50,000.
In other words we can say that KPP is the first program in Pakistan history of its kind in the history of Pakistan in which banks are being linked to the group of lowest income through microfinance institutions. The Kamyab Pakistan Programme is based on the financial empowerment vision of Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen that is creating opportunities to improve the financial health of people with limited access to resources.
What is Kamyab Pakistan Program
There are total five components of KPP which are given below:
1. Kamyab Kissan
2. Kamyab Karobar
3. Naya Pakistan low-cost housing
4. Kamyab Hunarmand and
5. Sehatmand Pakistan.
Under the first three components of KPP, micro-loans will be distributed to eligible persons registered with Ehsaas Data, which will be scientifically collected through the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER).
The last two components will be linked to the current initiatives of government. The Skilled Development Program of the Successful Skilled Government is designed to provide educational and vocational training to our talented youth.
Kamyab Pakistan Programme also includes a portal of friendly user called Kamyab Pakistan Information System (KPIS). The portal will be combined with NADRA and Ehsaas databases to verify the eligibility of the beneficiaries to facilitate the executing agencies (i.e. MfP’s) so that the financing methods are highly efficient and unbroken.
The Kamyab Pakistan Programme will supplement the efforts of the government to combat inflation by enabling the people to improve their livelihood. The Kamyab Pakistan Programme is a real indulgence of a responsible state that focuses on the “bottom line approach” for the betterment of its poor and vulnerable, as proposed by the Prime Minister.
